Pure Karbon has been a fixture in the Australian diamond industry for more than 35 years. At Pure Karbon, our long-standing experience of over three generations in the diamond business ensures

HOW IT ALL STARTED

1970

Born in a small village in India, Pritam Chand started a small jewellery shop in his village and did most of the metalwork himself. He also started instilling the skills of the trade into his children.

In 1970, Pritam and his family moved to New Delhi and opened a jewellery and manufacturing store Pritam Jewellers and Sons (with his sons Jagdish and Teerath Kumar) in the highly prestigious Bank Street, Karol Bagh.

2018

Inheriting a passion for diamonds and jewellery, after graduating from University of Melbourne, Jagdish's son Kapil took over the Melbourne branch of the business and aims to push Pure Karbon to new heights.

1987

In 1987 Jagdish started exporting cut and polished diamonds to Australia and bought his own office in the Wales Corner building in Melbourne. In 2012, Pritam Jewellers and Sons was rebranded to Aarna Jewellers while maintaining its craftmanship and reputation that earned it a loyal following

When you are looking at diamond traders, a good way to choose a dealer is to look for membership of professional bodies. Only a handful of diamond traders in Melbourne and other cities are members of these prestigious groups, and they have to adhere to high standards to keep their membership. For example, Pure Karbon is a member of the Diamond Dealers Club of Australia (DDCA) and Gemmological Association of Australia (GAA) amongst other organisations, which ensures diamond wholesalers follow a strict set of trading practices and protect the consumer. If you’re considering buying from diamond traders in Australia, check whether they have certifications and are members of trade bodies. It shows that these diamond traders strive for quality and want to give customers a good experience.
